Happy New Year, Bitches!

So New Years Eve and Day were spent with my friend Claire in New York! Exciting, right? Being in New York i think we were guaranteed to see some weird things, and that we did. We started 2013 with seeing a very drunk woman, staggering around the carriage yelling ‘Happy New Year Bitches’ and later being escorted from the train by the police. The weirdness was furthered by seeing a fatal car crash on the highway and on New Years Day itself, we saw a body bad in the middle of the sidewalk, surrounded by police. Only in New York, and a bit of an odd start to the year with the unlucky number 13!

Celebrating 2013 in style!

The trip to New York was great though. We were quite far away from Times Square for the actual Ball Drop but it was an experience, one that may be hyped up a little but was fun all the same. It’s definitely an experience that i can tick off my must see list. The city was crazy though, with road closures everywhere and with very little information on where to go it made walking around the city on New Years Eve very hard. We had much more luck on New Years Day though, managing to see a lot of the sights that we had wanted to.

Seeing the Statue of Liberty, even from afar was great and something i couldn’t leave without seeing. We also got to walk the whole of Battery Park, and a lot of Central Park since Claire was adamant that we would see the bridge and fountain from ‘Stuart Little’. We also got chance to see inside the Plaza Hotel, Grand Central Station & the Rockefeller as we went to the ‘Top of the Rock’ . The view from the Rockefeller at night was amazing and definitely something i’m going to remember from my trip to the city. I’m not always a fan of cities but to be in New York was great fun, and i’m so glad we went.

I hope everyone had an awesome New Years! I am certainly looking forward to what 2013 has in store.
